Sanzo Wada's color dictionary, online and LLM-friendly

While rebuilding my personal website last week, finding a new color scheme that "felt" like me was top priority. My partner had bought a paper copy of A Dictionary of Color Combinations by Sanzo Wada and with all the color pairings it contains, it seemed perfect for picking a new dark and light palette.

Describing colors to an LLM — Oil Green, Coral Red, Light Glaucous Blue, Sulphur Yellow — feels weird. Appreciation of color is so subjective. But with a reference to their origin (Sanzo Wada), any LLM assistant can find the specifics. What's even better is the online version of the book, showing 100+ two-color combinations with hex codes and historical color names. I found multiple versions of the book online; some give heavy vibe-coded vibes.
